Pic de Labassere, October 2004

It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday morning, so we decided to test out our library book, 'Les Sentiers d'Emilie' with a walk up the local Pic de Labassere. All of the walks in the book are supposed to be easy enough for any age to do. Naturally Sophie is still a bit young to manage to walk the whole of it, but we thought it should be pretty easy even so. It wasn't actually a very long walk, but the further we climbed up, the steeper it got, and the last section was quite tough. Still, the views were magnificent and the autumn crocuses were beautiful.
